FAMILY HISTORY of Winemakers: The Wald and Pfeifer families came from Europe. For many generations, they were winemakers and farmers. The art of wine making was passed down from Henry Wald to the grandchildren at an early age; in hopes someday they could carry on a family tradition. In the late 1860’s, the Pfeifer family established themselves in Kansas.

FARM HISTORY: The Pfeifer’s originally settled in Kansas, as farmers, after the Civil War. They built a small three room house, a barn and a chicken coop on a 186 acre farm, with the rich soil and the snow banks along the fence lines made the summers plentiful with vines of grapes and berries.

THE WINERY: Hidden Lakes Winery is located at 650 Winchester Pike, Canal Winchester Ohio, approximately 12 miles from downtown Columbus off State Route 33 and Gender Road.

FRUIT SOURCES: All the grapes, fruits and juices are hand selected from the top growers in Ohio, New York, California, and all from established quality vineyards.
